Nendeni week and free mobility clinic held at Chogoria hospital
Nendeni is a Swahili word that means ‘Go all’. Nendeni Week is therefore a week of mission work observed by the PCEA Church with the aim of encouraging people to go out and be of service to others in their communities. This is in line with this year’s Nendeni theme Joshua 24:15 “…we will serve the Lord.”
This year’s Nendeni Week took place from 2nd to 8th September 2024. During the week, PCEA members across board participate in activities that include environmental stewardship, evangelism, children’s home visits, prison visits and prayers.
To climax the week, Nendeni Board’s disability committee in partnership with Joni and Friends as well as Chogoria Hospital distributed 179 Mobility equipment in a very successful Mobility Clinic that took place in Chogoria. Adults and children across the Eastern region benefited from walking aids, crutches, wheelchairs, walkers and walking sticks. Joni and Friends is a disability focused organization based in the United States of America that aims at reaching out to individuals that are differently abled.
During this exercise, the PCEA Moderator Rt. Rev. Thegu Mutahi encouraged the entire church to support mission work and seek to share the love of Christ through our words and our service to humanity. “Mission work is the heart of the gospel, and it is God’s call to all of us,” he said.
