Office Of The Deputy Secretary General

The Deputy Secretary General shall be appointed by the General Assembly on recommendation by the Nominations Committee, that is, the Business Committee, in accordance with the procedure already laid down for the appointment by the General Assembly.

The deciding vote is a simple majority of the Presbyteries votes. The Deputy Secretary General shall in all matters, work in consultation with the Secretary General for the smooth running of the Office of the General Assembly and the Church as a whole.

About The Deputy Secretary General

Rev. John Mbae is an industrious, passionate, and hardworking leader who has over the years mastered the art of strategic management. He holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Kenyatta University, a graduate of Theology at the Presbyterian University of East Africa, and has a Certificate of Proficiency in insurance from the College of Insurance. He is trained in management from CORAT Africa. He is married to Judy Kawira and is blessed with 3 children.

He was a volunteer evangelist for 4.5 years before his ordination as a clergy. Later, he successfully qualified for Holy Ministry after training at Presbyterian College and did his practicum at Dr. Arthur Parish in Nakuru Presbytery.

Before his appointment to the head office, Rev. Mbae served in Narok outreach in Narok, Ndiaini Parish in Mukurweini and Munyange Parish in Othaya. At the head office, Rev. Mbae has served as the Director of Christian Education, acting Director Youth Department, acting Director Woman’s Guild, Director of Kirk Insurance Agency, Founding Director of Kirk TV and Director Communication Department.

He is a major contributor to his community and the education sector serving as a board member to various secondary schools. He is currently the chairman of Mugae Secondary School Board of Management.

He has collaborated in the writing of various literature including co-authoring The Pilgrim’s Companion a handbook for spiritual growth. Rev. John Mbae’s greatest passion is in leadership, Environment, Education, Mentorship and Charity work. He is a member of the Professional Criminologist Association of Kenya, PCAK.

Rev. John Mbae’s hope for the future is to see a happy and fulfilled personnel, a progressive PCEA Church and an integrated society.
