Successful Conclusion of the GAC 2025

We are grateful to announce the successful conclusion of the 2025 General Administration Committee(GAC). The final day was rich with activities, including the presentation of remaining reports, the awarding of trophies by the Finance Committee, and the presentation of moderatorial trophies. The Women’s Ministry also marked a special moment by launching new publications.
We were honored to have the Embu Town Choir grace the GAC with uplifting performances.
The Children’s Brigade has played a vital role throughout the assembly. On the first day, they conducted a ceremonial parade and raised five flags: the Kenyan flag, the East African flag, the PCEA flag, and the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade flags. These flags flew high throughout the event, symbolizing unity and pride. Today, they returned to ceremonially lower the flags, marking the close of the GAC.
Following the GAC, the church addressed members of the media to speak on key issues affecting our nation. The church emphasized the following points:
1. Mission and Evangelism: The church reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to spreading the Gospel through both the Word and compassionate acts.
2. Family and moral issues: A call was made for collective efforts to address challenges facing families today.
3. Technology, Youth and Children issues: The church encouraged parents, educators, faith-based institutions, and policymakers to be intentional in mentoring young people—especially in guiding them to use digital technology responsibly. Youth were urged to exercise discernment and responsibility on social media.
4. Substance Abuse and Gambling: The church highlighted the dangers of substance abuse and gambling, noting the increasing normalization of gambling despite its negative impact on individuals and society.
5. The challenge of unemployment: The church called on society to embrace vocational and technical education as a means of empowering youth with practical skills for self-employment.
6. Education: While expressing optimism about the upcoming transition to senior schools in 2026, the church urged the government to review the current system to ensure learners can choose schools based on merit and preference thus promoting fairness across all regions.
7. Healthcare Sector: The church urged the government to swiftly address public concerns surrounding the transition from NHIF to SHIF.
8. Social Economic Empowerment: The church called upon the government to adopt prudent financial measures to avoid national and personal debt traps.
9. Environmental Stewardship: With a goal to plant 10 million trees, the church urged all citizens to join in this mission to restore and preserve our environment.
10. Governance Issues: The church is concerned by the level of negative politics in Kenya. The Church strongly condems abductions, use of goons to attack people in religious premises and other gatherings.
11. Ecumenical Collaborations: In this time of mourning, the GAC observed a moment of silence and offered prayers following the passing of Pope Francis. The church calls upon all, especially leaders, to emulate the values exemplified by the late Pope; humility, selflessness, and a deep concern for the vulnerable in society.
