Before joining Holy Ministry, he was a secondary school teacher, teaching CRE, Kiswahili, and Literature. He was then transferred to Nderi parish in Kikuyu Presbytery and was made Clerk of the Presbytery at the end of the same year. After the Presbytery was divided into Kikuyu, Rugiri and Muguga, he was appointed moderator of the Muguga Presbytery. He has since served in various parishes including PCEA St. Andrews and PCEA Kahawa Sukari.
Prior to becoming the Moderator of the General Assembly, he served as the Deputy Secretary General of PCEA Church. He has also worked as a lecturer at Presbyterian University and East Africa teaching church history and Islamic studies. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at St. Paul’s University.
